#GrovePride

One can find the definition of pride in many dictionaries and online sources.  Most share a similar definition that includes feelings achieved from certain qualities that one may possess.  Below is a common definition derived from the website dictionary.com.

PRIDE:  /prīd/ -  a feeling or deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one's own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired.

At the Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. we have adopted the motto "Grove Pride".  Although the definition of "Grove Pride" would be nearly impossible to define in words, its not so difficult to define in our actions.  We strive to set ourselves apart from those around us. It's not about being cocky or showing off.  Its about setting an example in all that we do.

Reflecting back on old photos from our department, you can see that "Grove Pride" has always been a tradition.  The men before us took pride in their job and their department.  From nicely pressed uniforms to spit shined apparatus, they clearly set themselves apart from other departments.  Although the faces has changed, one thing remains the same.  #GrovePride

It is our goal at the Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. to continue this tradition of pride.  From clean apparatus to professionalism and everything in between, we strive to make those before us proud of where our department is today.

The hashtag #GrovePride was created to add a social media friendly name that people could associate photos and other status updates demonstrating "Grove Pride" for the betterment of our department.
